Cardi B Brought Back Dip-Dyed Hair in the Boldest Way

“This hair eats,” one fan declared—and honestly, we couldn’t agree more.

While monochrome hair color is having a major moment (we’re still thinking about Lindsay Lohan’s newly coined “almond milk” blonde), bold, high-contrast hues are making their way back into the spotlight. Case in point: one of Cardi B’s latest looks, which feels like a throwback to the early 2010s dip-dye era. The style features no shortage of hues: platinum blonde at the crown, fiery red-orange through the mid-lengths and sides and a bold pop of deep purple-blue underneath and at the ends.

Fans got a peek at the vibrant color combo in a post from the official Instagram account of the Netflix series You. Cardi B, reportedly a “superfan” of the psychological thriller, was tapped to help tease the season’s final trailer on social media. And while plenty of fans filled the comments with excitement over the show’s return (it hits Netflix one month from today), many couldn’t get enough of her head-turning hair. “This hair! Yes!” one person commented. Another wrote: “This hair eats.” See it for yourself below.

So, does Cardi B’s dip-dyed hair signal a return to early 2010s-inspired bold color moments? It just might. The look fits seamlessly into what’s shaping up to be a bolder, more expressive beauty era in 2025. “I think having more ‘fun’ with makeup will come back into play,” Miami makeup artist Natalie Dresher predicted in a conversation about 2025 beauty trends. “The pre-shower makeup looks will become the standard of makeup. We will have fun with bold colors and outlandish, unique concepts! Pops of color, metallics, shimmer, bold eyes, all of these things will be back!”
