In a recent interview with New York Post, singer and brand founder Alicia Keys dishes on her self-care, skin-care and makeup favorites for spring. “I love the idea of prioritizing connecting with yourself and knowing who you are and what you feel, and realizing that there is no ceiling that can stop you,” she says.
Before she gets started on her makeup, Keys applies a layer of Keys Soulcare Let Me Glow Illuminating Serum ($26) from her line. “It adds a beautiful glow to my skin—whether I’m wearing it completely by itself, or putting it underneath my blush," she says. And we're blaming its skin-illuminating glow on the ingredients inside the bottle: brightening and balancing niacinamide and antioxidant-rich rose water.
In terms of her makeup favorites, it's Diorshow Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner ($33) and Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Waterproof Mascara ($35). Talking about the eyeliner, she says, “This is my go-to, an absolute favorite. I put a tiny bit in the crease of my upper lid and it still looks super natural.” Next up is a swipe of the ultra-luxe mascara. “I like to go pretty dramatic with mascara, and I love this one. It is really, really good.”
When it's time for some relaxing alone time, she flips through a few pages of Ritual Baths: Be Your Own Healer($16) by Deborah Hanekamp (Keys refers to her as 'Mama Medicine'), a book that teaches you how to use baths to relieve stress. “Mama Medicine creates these beautiful bath rituals that include flowers, salts, incense, stones and crystals. They are really powerful and healing."
