You might assume that younger generations are leading the charge when it comes to nail care, but our recent survey of more than 500 NewBeauty readers revealed a surprising trend: women in their 40s and 50s are the most invested in nail care services.

Our data shows that readers aged 44-55 reported the highest frequency of nail salon visits and the most substantial spending on nail services. Specifically, 25.8 percent of respondents in this age group get nail services monthly, while another 18.3 percent opt for bi-weekly appointments.

What's driving this trend? For many in this age bracket, regular nail care is seen as an essential part of their self-care routine. As one 51-year-old reader shared, "Getting my nails done is my 'me time'. It's a small luxury that makes me feel put together and confident."

Interestingly, this age group is also more likely to view nail services as a regular part of their routine rather than a treat. 25.7 percent of respondents in their 40s and 50s see nail care as a standard part of their beauty regimen, compared to younger age groups who more often view it as an occasional indulgence.

Financial stability might play a role, too. With established careers and potentially more disposable income, this age group may be more comfortable allocating funds to regular beauty services.

The bottom line: When it comes to consistent, invested nail care, it's the 40-55 age group that's leading the way, proving that beauty routines evolve and often become more prioritized with age.
