The co-hostess with the mostest, Tina Fey brought some glowing-skin goodness to tonight’s Golden Globes, courtesy of her go-to makeup artist Gita Bass and the always-solid inspiration of Manhattan.
Playing off the New York location, Bass opted for a “downtown NY cool vibe, rather than the usual Hollywood glam,” which equated to an an edgy-plum smoky eye, subtle nude lip and glowing skin to play-off Fey’s all-black ensemble.
Step one: Bass prepped the skin with Beautycounter’s Overnight Resurfacing Peel ($65) the night prior to help exfoliate and resurface the skin. “On the day, I started with the All Bright C Serum, to instantly brighten the skin and add a gorgeous glow, and then the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion to create the perfectly hydrated, dewy base for makeup,” Bass shared. “I then gently massaged the skin with the Pause Well Aging Fascia Stimulating Tool to help improve blood flow and boost collagen production.”
Beautycounter also showed up for Fey’s radiant complexion—as did the combo of a few coats of volumizing mascara and Jenna Lyon’s LOVESEEN lashes in Inez ($24). “I applied a few drops of the Featherweight Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation in Light 230 and Medium 310, and then added Skin Twin Creamy Concealer in Light 2 where needed,” Bass shared. “To add warmth to the skin, I swirled the Radiant All Over Bronzer in Surf where the sun would naturally hit, and then layered Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Hibiscus on to the apples of the cheeks. To deepen the pigment and ensure the blush would last all night, I then layered the Satin Powder Blush in Nectar over the top. To set the skin, I applied some Mattifying Powder to the center of the face and added the Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Pearl Glow to the cheek and brow bones.”
And the final step of the formula for that rosy-nude lip: Color Intense Lipstick ($34) in Brunch, with a layer of Beyond Gloss in Peony over the top.
