Hair thinning and shedding aren’t just occasional concerns—they’re a daily reality for the majority of women. In a recent NewBeauty survey of more than 1,300 participants,* 61.4 percent of respondents said they’ve experienced hair loss or hair thinning, reinforcing just how widespread the issue has become.
And with awareness on the rise, many are turning to supplements in hopes of finding a solution. When asked about their supplement habits, 37.6 percent of respondents said they’re currently taking hair supplements to address the issue. Another 35 percent said they’re open to trying supplements in the future, while just 5 percent said they have no interest in going that route.
Of those who have tried supplements, Nutrafol emerged as the most-used brand, with 42.8 percent saying they’ve taken it. Nioxin (26.9 percent), Viviscal (25.2 percent), Vital Proteins (24 percent), Nature’s Bounty (23.3 percent), and Vegamour (17.6 percent) also showed strong traction among respondents, proving that the market is both competitive and growing.
Whether it’s postpartum shedding, hormonal shifts or stress-related loss, hair loss is not only common, but deeply personal, and women are actively searching for answers.
As brands continue to innovate, and as conversations around hair loss become more open, these numbers may only rise. One thing is certain: women are no longer staying silent about thinning hair, and they’re ready to take action.
