Awards-show makeup and skin-loving ingredients don’t usually go hand in hand, but tonight, Adam Breuchaud, makeup artist to American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson, changed that. Instead of the usual full-coverage suspects, Breuchaud relied on the dermatologist-beloved brand Colorescience for Paulson’s “New York Ballet meets classic red-carpet moment” at the 2018 Emmy Awards.

First up: The brand’s Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF 35 ($69) to brighten Paulson’s under-eyes and brow bone (it also busts puffiness and lessens fine lines and wrinkles). On the lids, Breuchaud topped MAC Groundwork with Colorescience Universal Blush Eyeshadow ($55)—find it in the Beauty On The Go Palette—and finished it off with several coats of Colorescience Mascara ($29) for dramatic, camera-ready lashes.

To create the star’s flush, glowy cheeks, it was a blend of Champagne Kiss Illuminator ($49) and Pressed Mineral Illuminator in Morning Glow ($39). Lastly, Sunforgettable Setting Mist ($39) locked the look in place to keep Paulson ready for her close up all night—zero pore-clogging makeup guilt in sight.
