When liquid, cream and balmy blushes exploded onto the market, it began a blush love affair I’m still deeply entrenched in today. I continue to stock up on every new version that launches because why settle for a chalky cheek color when you can get a dewy flush with a quick dab? One of my favorite formulas is the award-winning Saie Dew Blush, a liquid-cream blendable blush that melts into skin and never streaks when I intensify the color. (Dew Blush is so glow-worthy, it became my gateway to discovering other Saie makeup I now consider “desert island” items, like Glossybounce and Lip Liner 101.)
All this to say, when Saie launches new makeup, I’m all ears. Saie has innovated the blush category even further with SuperSuede Baked Powder Blush, the brand’s first foray into powder blush. To get all the details, and hear my honest review, keep reading.
The Innovation
“SuperSuede starts out as a bouncy, pliable mound of dough that gets hand-whipped, expertly placed onto a terracotta disc, gently tucked in with cloth and then baked using time-honored Italian techniques. Fresh out of the oven, or “forno,” SuperSuede emerges,” explains the brand. The makeup is elevated further by Saie’s commitment to modern clean technology throughout its products.
The Formula
The talc-free formula is “super plush” with a “buttery soft” texture that’s lightweight and luxurious, thanks to jojoba esters, plant-derived squalane and glycerin—powerful skin hydrators. Ethically sourced silica and mica deliver a pop of color with a natural-blurred finish.
The Shades
- GRAZIE, Berry
- STELLA, Bright Coral
- AMORE, Fuchsia
- CIAO, Warm Golden Brown
- BELLA, Cool-Toned Baby Pink

The Review
I haven’t used powder blush in years, and factor in my seasonally dry skin, I was hesitant to try SuperSuede. Thankfully, my obsession with Saie convinced me to give it a go anyway. Opening up the compact it’s immediately apparent how richly pigmented the color is, so I gave my blush brush a good tap before applying. (I like to start slow, but the powder easily builds if you desire a more intense flush.) The baked texture glides on like silk—no blotchiness, no streaks and it didn’t exacerbate any dry patches or crease throughout the day. As the hours passed, only a warm, velvety flush remained. Surprising even myself, since that first try SuperSuede has been the blush I use most, even over other liquid, cream and balm blushes I love in my makeup drawer. You may think powder blushes are a relic of the past, but give SuperSuede a chance and it will change your mind.
