40 pounds down and a whole bunch of learning lessons gained, Raven Symoné spoke to The View yesterday to break down her health journey.
“What made me want to change was her,” she said, pointing to wife Miranda Pearman-Maday, according to People. “I want to be here for her as long as I can. I found out some numbers at the doctor that were not pleasant for someone in my age bracket or any age bracket, to be honest with you.”
With this sudden health journey ahead of her and a lot of habits to kick, Symoné relied on her wife, who not only helped her overcome a sugar habit, but taught her some new cooking skills along the way, too.
Dishing on her relationship with sugar, the 36-year-old says, “I was addicted to it in wheat form, in regular form, and it’s out of my system.” Now, she relies on the Ketogenic diet, whole foods and intermittent fasting to shed the pounds. “When I ended this show [in 2016] and I started Raven’s Home, I was 210 lbs. I am now 170,” she says, adding that she reached this goal without exercise. “Just so you guys know, I am 28 lbs. down. I lost a s*** ton of weight.”
