I always wish I could be the type of person that can throw on a flick of mascara and leave the house looking like a new woman, but, as my hour-long makeup routine would have it, that will never be the case. I can, however, live vicariously through actress, author and activist Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who recently told Who What Wear that her makeup routine never exceeds a mere five minutes.

She explains that a quick cleanse with Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser ($45), a good moisturizer—her favorite at the moment is Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream ($240)—plus a “few drops of sunblock” are always her first steps before her minimalist routine, and that pretty much does it for her base. “I’m not really big on foundation, but I will do a quick under-eye tap with a concealer stick, maybe around the mouth too, and then I’ll just blend it out,” she tells Who What Wear.

Then, the 38-year-old goes in with an eyelash curler, the YSL The Shock Volumizing Mascara ($29), which she says is “amazing,” and whatever lip color fits her mood. Whether it’s a bright purple or a soft pink, she likes to blend out the color with her finger to get a “diffused” feeling that’s less intense. “And then I’ll just use the same finger and add a little bit to my cheeks, blend it out, and I’m ready to go,” she adds. If Chopra Jonas has a little extra time on her hands, she’ll fill and comb through her eyebrows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($23).

While she’s constantly getting her ‘do perfected by hairstylists, she has mastered the art of the quick at-home hair routine, and it all starts with Anomaly Dry Shampoo ($6), a hero product from her newest hair-care brand, exclusively sold at Target. Post-spray, she’ll throw her hair into a top knot, pull out her bangs and go about her day. To keep her hair healthy, Chopra Jonas says she never skips a scalp massage, which she does at least twice a month. “I like to use coconut oil—or a little bit of castor oil mixed in with the coconut oil—because it stimulates the blood circulation in your scalp. In my experience, it’s really helped encourage healthier hair growth.”
