Press-On Nails Are Making a Comeback and They Look Better Than Ever

By ·

If you remember the Lee Press-On Nails from the ’80s, you probably cringe at the thought of wearing fake, plastic discs on your fingers that can easily pop off at any moment. But press-on nails are making a major comeback (some brands are calling them “pop-on” nails), and even celebrities are getting behind the trend. Jennifer Lopez’s manicurist Tom Bachik even revealed to InStyle that any time the star is seen wearing long nails, they’re customized press-ons—she even wore a set to last year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Today’s press-on nails come in more shades, shapes and textures than the square French tip version of the past. Now you can rock coffin or stiletto-length nails with custom-painted holographic, ombré, matte and studded versions that are resuable, with many users boasting that they can be worn three, four or five times over.

Brands like Static Nails, Lime Crime, iikonn and imPRESS sell beautiful, one-step manicures. But for even more customized options, there are a slew of Etsy stores with every option and style of press-on nails you could ever imagine. If you’re considering a specific nail art look or length of acrylic, gel or dip powder nail, press on nails let you try it out before you commit. The best part is that with so many options, you could change your manicure every day without doing any long-term damage to your nails.
