Between a much-buzzed-about SKIMS campaign and an insane social-media following—as in 8 million followers, 400 million views across her platforms and a very serious TikTok alliance—Wilhelmina model Olivia Ponton may be new to the game, but the Florida native tells us she’s just getting started.

You were discovered as a model fairly young age. How do you keep a level-head? 
It’s taken me a while to understand that “no” doesn’t mean I’ve failed. Also, I’ve learned that my opinion of myself is more important than what others think of me. 

You were part of a SKIMS campaign. Tell us some secrets from the set.
The craziest thing was that, as I was getting my hair done, the makeup artist looked at me and told me I didn’t need any makeup. That definitely made me feel good!

You’ve been known to share the occasional favorite beauty product on social. What are some of your current go-tos?
Benefit’s new They’re Real! Magnet Mascara is already my go-to! Frankies Bikinis Glow Tint, which is a cream blush, is also so good with full glam or for an after-beach look.

What are you most excited about in the new year?
To move part-time to New York City!  

You’re from Florida and now you live in LA; any difference you’ve seen between the two places as far as beauty goes?
I think every person is beautiful in their own way. In Florida, though, we’re a bit more subtle with our makeup.
