You’ve probably never heard of Australian beauty brand Mirenesse, but with it’s massively popular mascara—Secret Weapon Supreme 24Hr Mascara—being sold every three minutes across the world, you’re bound to see more of it soon.
What the brand says makes it so good is its water-based, elastic-gel formula that’s ultra-lightweight and stretchable, which gives lashes major length and volume in just a few coats. The look you can expect? The winged, doe-eye effect of generations past—think Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot. And did we mention it’s been in development for 15 years? That’s a ton of time to perfect a “dream” mascara.

Another feature the brand says makes this mascara stand apart from others is its “Bewitching Brush” (inspired by the shape of a witch’s hat) that is designed to lift the lashes from root to tip and tapered on one end to help you reach your tiniest lashes without making a mess.
To see for myself, I decided to take the Secret Weapon ($28) for a test-drive. Three things I loved about it: It stays exactly where you want it and doesn’t smudge, even at the end of a long day; it comes off easily without staining your skin; and you don’t need a million layers to get a voluminous look.
