Stars: they take inspiration from Bravo-lebrities just like us! Or, at least Meghann Fahy does.
The Drop actress is the most recent star of Vogue’s Beauty Secrets video series, where she gives a detailed rundown of her entire at-home beauty routine—and she lets us in on a simple but important piece of skin-care advice she once learned from a Bravo star.
One of Fahy’s go-tos is the Biologique Recherche Amniotique VG Serum ($85), a hydrating serum meant to address extreme dryness. At the start of the video, she discusses her favorite way to apply the serum—by putting the dropper directly on her face to squeeze out the product and rubbing it in with her hands—before sharing why she applies the product to her neck as well.
“I put [the serum] on my neck, too, because one of the Real Housewives said once ‘Do not neglect the neck,’ and I can’t stop thinking about that.” Fahy didn’t go into further detail about which specific housewife she heard say this, but it’s very likely she could be referring to a Nene Leakes quote that was given during a 2012 interview with Glamour. In it, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum discusses her beauty secrets, claiming that washing her face twice a day and using plenty of moisturizer are both crucial steps in her regimen.
“I’m not a real makeup girl—you see me in lots of makeup on Housewives, but I’m really all about skin,” Leakes says. “Take it from me: Wash, moisturize and never neglect the neck.”
To be fair, Nene Leakes has never been wrong about anything (ever!), but especially not the importance of neck care, so I get why Fahy carries this with her every time she puts on a product. Most instruction labels on creams, serums and moisturizers advise you to massage them into the neck anyway, since fine lines and other signs of aging often appear there as well, so neither of them are very far off here.
Fahy finishes out her routine with other cult favorite products like the Paula’s Choice Essential Glow SPF 30 ($35), the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ($24) and the Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer ($22). Unfortunately, she doesn’t reveal any other Housewives-centric beauty advice, but we’ll just have to take what we can get.
