Maye Musk knows a thing or two about skin care. “I’ve always had to look after my skin. I’ve been modeling since I was 15 and I’m now 73, so you really can’t last that long as a model unless you look after your skin,” she says candidly a Vogue Beauty Secrets video. But that’s not all—Musk has also mastered the makeup routine that fits her skin needs as she’s gotten older, and she’s sharing her secrets.
After cleansing and applying her serums, the supermodel applies a coat of La Mer The Lip Balm ($75). “I have to take it with me everywhere. If I’m not wearing lipstick, then I definitely need lip balm.”
Next, she taps on the Cle De Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation ($90) with a Laura Mercier Makeup Sponge ($20). “If the makeup starts to sink into my wrinkles later, then I just dab it a bit, but usually I don’t have my glasses on so I don’t see any wrinkles,” she jokes. For concealer, she uses the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer ($36) under her eyes and around her nose before powdering with Dior Forever Loose Cushion Powder ($58).
Next, it’s time for blush. “I put the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush ($40) just below my cheekbones. I have big cheekbones—thank you, mom and dad—and sometimes I’ll even put some on my eyes just to add a little color there before my eye makeup.” Finally, Musk adds some shimmer to the tops of her cheekbones with Dior Forever Couture Luminizer Highlighter Powder ($48).
“I hardly have any brows, so I really need to do something about it,” she tells Vogue, as she draws arches in with Yves Saint Laurent Couture Brow Slim ($18). To contour her eyes, she uses a four-shade palette from Dior. “I have small eyelashes, so I definitely need mascara,” she says as she finishes her look with a swipe of Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara ($30) over her lashes and a few LashLash Individual Lashes ($25).”
