Mother-daughter duo Maya Rudolph and Pearl Anderson made a stylish appearance at Balenciaga’s Paris Couture Show this past week, and we have all the insider details on Rudolph’s radiant glow, straight from her makeup artist.

According to celeb MUA Quinn Murphy, the goal of the look was “to be centered around a bold and graphic black eyeliner—something strong and confident and modern.” Murphy also shares that it was incredibly hot in Paris the day of the show, and the makeup and skin care stood up to the heat.

“The key to modern eye liner is to make the shape of the liner straight and pulled out further elongating the eye and not a turned up 50’s swoosh,” he shares. “The rest of the makeup was glowy and clean with tonal shading and subtle highlights to, of course, show Maya’s freckles.”

The fresh-faced look started with Murphy prepping the skin using the coming-soon Yoé Ympossible Cream, which launches in September. “Then, I applied SPATCH Sali-C Primer ($27) on the T-zone and blended outward on the face for shine control and extra hydration,” he says. “It also helps the makeup last in this incredible heat.”

Next, Murphy applied a sheer amount of Armani Luminous Silk Foundation #6 ($69), followed by SPATCH Invisible Spot Fix #3 ($29) on under eyes, sides of nose and chin. “I used it to conceal, color-correct and neutralize any unevenness.”

For Rudolph’s bold eye, Murphy’s secret weapon was Inglot’s gel liner ($15). “We wanted a strong graphic shape and not much else on the eyes. I made sure it was more of an elongated straight liner and not a 50’s tired up wing to keep it cool and modern.”

For blush, it was the popular Nars Forbidden-992 ($34). For the lips, Murphy used Monika Blunder lip pencil in Renae ($22) and Botanical Balm Hyaluronic Lip Tint in Frühling ($26).

“Lastly, I set and refreshed the makeup with SPATCH Alcohol-Free Setting Spray ($38) to set and lock in the makeup. It was very hot and this ensured that the makeup stayed put and looked good for hours in the heat.”
