Built from years of candidly sharing her acne journey online, Alix Earle’s new skin-care line, Reale Actives, is rooted in real experience and real results. Frustrated by products that were “either too harsh or ineffective,” Earle set out to create a streamlined, dermatologist-developed system that balances clinical performance with everyday gentleness. Designed to simplify routines and support the skin barrier, the line (launching this week) reflects a modern approach to skin care—one that prioritizes confidence, consistency and not “overthinking it.”
Amid the buzz and online reactions, Earle spoke with us about why she believes this line is truly different—and why she stands firmly behind it.
The million-dollar question on everyone’s mind: Why did you decide to launch this line?
“I’ve been really open about my acne journey for years online, and through that, I was constantly trying products that either didn’t work or were just way too harsh for my skin. I always felt like I had to choose between something that was effective and something that didn’t totally wreck my barrier. I wanted to create the brand I wish I had back then. I wanted something that actually works but is gentle enough to use every day.
As for why now, it felt like the right moment. I’ve learned so much about my skin, worked closely with my dermatologist, Dr. Kiran Mian, who gave guidance on how to develop clinically proven formulas. I’ve built a community that’s been having these conversations with me in real time. It felt natural to take everything I’ve experienced and turn it into something tangible that could actually help people.”
What do you think separates it from other acne lines?
“I think a lot of acne brands are still overly complicated. With Reale Actives, we focused on creating formulas that are dermatologist-developed yet gentle and easy to use consistently. The brand is built for breakouts, but it’s made for everyone. Reale Actives isn’t just an acne brand—everyone can use it. We’re taking a more modern approach to skin care. It’s not about obsessing over your skin or making it your whole personality. It’s about having products you can trust so your skin becomes more of an afterthought. That mindset shift is just as important as the formulas themselves.”

What do you hope customers will appreciate most about Real Actives?
“Honestly, I hope people feel a sense of joy that they don’t have to overthink their routine anymore or question whether something is going to irritate their skin. It’s a really streamlined system that works for everyone and for their real lives, whether you’re wearing a full face of makeup, traveling or just dealing with everyday stress. More than anything, I want people to feel confident and not held back by their skin.”
What was the hardest part about getting the brand to the finish line?
“Definitely the development process. I was super involved in making sure everything felt right - from how the formulas performed to how they felt on sensitive skin. It took a lot of time and testing to get to a place where I felt 100 percent confident putting my name behind it. I’ve tried so many products over the years, so my standards were really high. I didn’t want to launch anything unless it truly worked and felt good to use every single day.”
Can you walk us through the parts of the formulas you are particularly proud of?
“I’m really proud that everything is designed to be effective without being harsh. That balance is so hard to get right. Ingredients like mandelic acid were really important to me because they’re powerful but still gentle, and the barrier-supporting elements, like the ceramide complex in the moisturizer, help keep your skin balanced. Also, making sure everything is non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic was huge. I wanted people to feel confident that what they’re using is actually supporting their skin, not working against it.”
