If you’re like me and you’ve been a fan of Jana Kramer since her days as starlet Alex Dupré on One Tree Hill, you’re incredibly happy to see how much success she’s achieved. At 32 years old, she’s gone from actress to country music artist, selling out concerts while also taking care of her 9-month-old baby girl Jolie Rae. She’s also a frontrunner on her latest gig, Dancing with the Stars (#TeamGlamer!). In between rehearsals and mommy time, I managed to snag a few minutes with the star to get the scoop on her favorite beauty products, fitness tips and so much more.
NewBeauty: What beauty products are you never without?
Jana Kramer: My go-to beauty products are definitely my Anastasia Eyebrow Duo, Hourglass Primer, the new NARS Mascara, Giorgio Armani 5.5 Luminous Foundation, Colgate Optic White High Impact White Toothpaste, Bobbi Brown Bronzer, La Mer and/or Guerlain skin care products and GlamGlow’s mud mask. For my everyday lip, I use Too Faced Child Star Lipstick, and when I’m trying to make a statement, I do MAC Ruby Woo for a bold red lip!

NB: You’ve said fitness is really important to you. What are your go-to workouts?
JK: Fitness is a huge passion of mine; it keeps me healthy and energized for all that I have going on! Hiking, squats, planks and running are just a few of the ways I keep myself in shape.
NB: What is the most important fitness tip you’ve learned from training with Erin Oprea?
JK: Good question! I’ve learned that it’s not just about working out; it’s what you put in your body too. You have to take care of your overall lifestyle with eating, stress, etc. and find a balance.
NB: How did your partnership with Colgate come to be?
JK: I’ve always been a big fan of Colgate Optic White and have used their products for years, and I’ve been partners with them for more than two years. I love using Colgate Optic White High Impact White Toothpaste because it gives me a bright, white smile, and it’s one less thing I have to think about when I get ready every day.
NB: Let’s talk about your gorgeous ombré hair. What products do you use to keep it healthy and bouncy?
JK: My favorite thing to have done on my hair is balayage; it gives it dimension, while still looking natural. NB: How has your life changed since having your baby girl?
JK: My routine has become less about me and more about my daughter, so I live in workout clothes and just fill in my eyebrows and put on mascara. My go-to is a minimalist makeup look. Less is more!
NB: What advice do you have for busy moms like yourself?
JK: Make sure that you make time for yourself! I try to set aside at least an hour for myself every day, even when I get busy. I also think it’s important to do something that you love, which is why I decided to do Dancing with the Stars.
NB: What are your go-to snacks to stay fueled when you’re on tour?
JK: I love thinkThin Brownie Crunch Bars, Kind Bars, bananas, apples, hummus, pita chips and carrots.
NB: What do you like to do when you’re not working?
JK: My favorite thing to do is hang out with my daughter. I also love spending time outdoors by going to the dog park, hanging out with my girlfriends and hosting game nights.

JK: I’d have to say Sophia Bush (we were costars on One Tree Hill), my friends and my DWTS costars.
NB: What is something your fans would be surprised to learn about you?
JK: Some interesting things about me are that I don’t have any moles, I grew up speaking German and I used to figure skate for 13 years.
