You may highlight your cheekbones, nose and forehead, but have you ever tried highlighting your jaw? If your answer is no, you may want to start because Bella Hadid’s signature technique is taking the internet by storm.
In a recent TikTok, makeup artist Rachel OCool comments on the supermodel’s technique, saying, “Okay, we’re all seeing these amazing photos of Bella Hadid. Look at her jaw! The way her jaw is highlighted here just makes me think: Can we re-create this with makeup?”
Moving onto the next clip, OCool gives the jaw highlight a whirl, blending it against the outline of her bone. Her reaction: “There’s something there! It’s not perfect, but there’s something there. Let me know if you try it, let me know if you can perfect it.”
In a separate video, actress Jaclyn Forbes comments on the trend, too. Using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44) mixed with Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand ($40), she blends the highlight across her jawline. “Oh, this is so good. You’ve got to try it out.”
While we use makeup to enhance our features, celebrity makeup artist Ermahn Ospina says a real glow should come from skin care. “The focus should be on the health and glow of the skin as a whole, versus solely focusing on the jawline area, by using skin-care products instead of just makeup,” he says. “A serum such as Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil ($44) will give you a healthy glow and you will also get those highlights on the jawline when the light hits it.”
