In this day and age, it’s pretty common to assume that any celebrity weight loss or body transformation is at least in part thanks to weight-loss injections like Semaglutide, Ozempic, and Mounjaro. From the array of celebrities who have admitted to using the drugs to the even longer laundry list of those assumed to be on them, these weight-loss drugs have become the hottest topic in the world of weight loss.

For The Hills star Heidi Montag, though, her journey to weight loss and body confidence was done the old fashioned way. In an interview with US Weekly, the 37-year-old mom-of-two revealed that she’s down 22 pounds in three months naturally.

Heidi Montag’s Weight-Loss Secrets

After giving birth to her second child Ryker, Montag decided she wanted to up her workout game and begin her journey to being fit and healthy without weight loss drugs. “I used to want skinny legs and the gap in between the thighs—I thought that was such a staple of being fit,” she said in her cover story for US Weekly. “Now my opinion of what’s sexy and what’s healthy is so different. I love how strong and toned my arms are. It’s been really fun to flex for my husband. I’m like, ‘Yeah, look at these!’ This is the best I’ve ever felt.”

So, how did she do it? Montag told the outlet that “Getting stronger was my main goal. I’m all about longevity and a sustainable health program. For me, it’s not about the weight, though; it’s about strength,” so she opted for diet and exercise changes to aid in her body transformation. “I cut out a lot of carbs,” she began, “I had bread once a day, and I cut down on sugar and alcohol. I also made sure to get a little bit more sleep, which is a big deal. I worked out five to seven times a week, only for an hour, because with mom life, that’s all I had. It’s a lot of weight training, which I continue to do. Squatting, push ups, pull ups, ring rows, lunges—just your basic workout at a high, intense weight.”

As for whether or not Montag wants to continue losing weight, the answer is a resounding no. “I weigh 112 pounds. This is the weight my body is supposed to be. I wanted to get to a place where my body is at its peak performance and I’m able to work out a few times a week and eat comfortably in a healthy way. It’s sustaining itself naturally.”
