Albeit virtually, awards season is officially here—and according to our social media feeds, our favorite A-listers are ready to finally get glammed up again.
As any makeup artist will tell you, prepping the skin before any makeup application is a non-negotiable, which makes the deluge of perfectly sorted skin-care products seen on Instagram tonight a welcome one.
Among the countless serums, masks and potions used to prep Hollywood’s finest for the first-ever bicostal Golden Globes was the high-tech CurrentBody LED Mask ($399), which harnesses both anti-aging red and near infrared light therapy to improve skin tone, plump the skin and soften the look of wrinkles.
A clear favorite among celebrity makeup artists this year, a trio of experts leaned on the mask to perfect their clients’ complexions before hitting the Zoom screen: celeb makeup artist Dana Hamel used the futuristic LED mask to prep Renée Zellweger’s skin, sharing a selfie of the star masking before hitting the virtual carpet; celebrity makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani entrusted the mask for her client Gal Gadot’s glowing complexion, and Jamie Greenberg, long-time makeup artist to Kaley Cuoco, called on the mask to all-around “better” Cuoco’s skin ahead of tonight’s awards show.
“It makes your skin look brighter, better and smoother, and it turns your skin over so it looks fresher and younger—and that’s what we all want,” Greenberg shared on Instagram stories tonight, noting she also used the The Neck and Dec Perfector ($469) on Cuoco to perfect the décolletage area for her stunning strapless gown.
“I recommend LED and infrared light therapy to all my clients and use it in conjunction with every facial I give,” says Hamel. “It’s a safe and effective way to increase circulation and stimulate collagen, helping to reduce wrinkles. It also helps kill bacteria and decrease inflammation. Doesn’t get much better or easier than that.”
