We’re gearing up for winter in every way we can, from taking out our cozy sweaters to getting manicure inspiration ready to go. We asked KISS brand ambassador and celebrity manicurist Gina Edwards what she predicts will be most popular winter nail colors this season. Below, insight from the expert behind nail looks from Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Timothée Chalamet.
2024 Winter Nail Color Trends
Amber Brown
Amber brown teeters on burnt orange and light brown hues, both of which have had their moments in the sun recently. This shade keeps things bright yet still seasonally appropriate during dark winter days.
One’s to try: Sally Hansen Across the Multiverse ($8); OPI Chocolate Moose ($11); Nails.INC Maldives Beach ($9)
Magnetic Nails
Edwards says the super popular magnetic manicure trend will stay in high demand through the winter. Whether you head to the salon and ask an expert for help, opt for easy-to-use press-on nails, or try your hand with a DIY polish at home, there are many ways to get this trending look.
One’s to try: KISS Gel Fantasy Magnetic Press-On Nails ($9-$10); Cirque Colors Blue Velvet ($15); ILNP Poison ($13)
Gully Grey
Gully grey is a muted grey with subtle notes of olive green. A popular color for chic walls and trendy sweatshirts and sneakers, Edwards predicts it’ll make its way to manicures this season in a big way.
One’s to try: Orly Aloe, Goodbye! ($13); Olive & June Our House ($9); Londontown Star Moss ($16)
Rich Medium Blues
Channel your winter blues into your manicure. Edwards predicts we’ll see a lot of rich medium blue manicures in the coming season.
One’s to try: Dior Denim ($32); Olive & June Social Studies ($9); Essie To Me From Me ($10)
Warm Greens
Edwards predicts this season will be full of warmer green manicures with olive undertones. When looking for a new shade to try, go deeper than the olive greens of fall to warm up the look for winter.
One’s to try: Essie Meet Me at Midnight ($10); OPI Things I’ve Seen in Aber-Green ($12); Zoya Charli ($10)
