You’ve been told many times, but it bears repeating. Wearing the right bra for your size and shape, and for the style or occasion, makes a world of difference to your overall look. Here is a list of some of our favorite bras for every look, plus tips from bra experts on which styles are right for you.
A wireless bra is comfortable and will provide some moderate support without drawing attention to your breasts. However, when you are looking for a dramatic effect (extra cleavage, a lift, or even a jump up a cup-size), a padded, push-up is what you need. Talk about results!
When you reach for a T-shirt and yoga pants, a loose fitting dress or a cozy sweater, the chances are your main priority is comfort. A wireless bralette is just what you need for a natural, comfortable look when lounging.
“For the most part, there’s no lining or nipple coverage making these better for smaller busts,” says bra fit expert Jene Luciani.

The low-cut sports bra is ideal for small to medium cup sizes to wear during low-impact workouts like yoga, Pilates or barre classes. If you are a full-busted woman or plan a high-impact workout such as running, try a full coverage sports bra instead.
“Low-cut sports bra styles come wire-free or with a wire. A smaller bust can wear both, but a fuller bust should opt for a wired style for added support,” says undergarment specialist Miriam Hernandez.

Perfect for everyday wear, the unlined demi will give you shape and a modest lift without creating cleavage or an exaggerated effect.
“Unlined bras shape the breast based off the bra seams and silhouette. Comfort is the ultimate benefit here,” says Hernandez.

For office attire or a business meeting, moderation is key. A memory foam contour bra works for all shapes and sizes to provide minimal cleavage or a subtle push-up effect that is not too overpowering. They’re great with silk or satin tops, clingy knits and tight, thin shirts, because they provide a custom and seamless fit.
“Memory foam contour bras were developed to conform around your natural breast shape. The foam heats up and reacts to your body’s temperature. The contour shape pairs great with those clingy knit tops and dresses where you’re trying to avoid texture,” says Hernandez.

“Push-up bras with inserts are good for a sexy look because they give maximum cleavage,” says Luciani. The perfect bra for those evenings when you need an extra lift! However, extremely large-busted women should steer clear of this option, as it may not provide enough support.
“This style offers full support—just make sure you’re buying one with a cup size that’s big enough. The extra padding in a push-up can easily make you slip out,” explains Hernandez.

Sometimes fashion demands a strapless bra, but there are comfortable options out there that will stay on and look seamless. We promise! Pair a strapless bra with asymmetrical designs and halters, tops with spaghetti straps, open necklines and, of course, strapless styles.
“With a strapless bra you don’t have the support of straps so the band needs to fit snug. Look for a silicone band so the bra doesn’t slide down,” says Luciani.

Plunge bras help to create a natural-looking yet sexy cleavage by slightly pushing the breasts together. This bra is your secret weapon for deep V’s and plunging, low cut necklines.
“These accommodate smaller sizes but there are options for large sizes too—just with less plunge,” says Hernandez. “Your breasts should look contained, not spilling out.”
