Donna Kelce shared some insightful words on menopause during a QVC event celebrating the television network’s new Age of Possibility campaign on Monday, April 29. The mother of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce spoke with an interviewer who asked for advice she might offer to someone like Travis’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

“What advice would you give to somebody, or like a spoiler alert, that you might share with—oh, someone like Taylor Swift—about menopause?” the reporter asked.

“Wear light clothing and have a fan around you at all times,” Donna replied. The interviewer pressed further, asking if she thinks she’ll ever be giving Swift advice about menopause. She replied: “No, she’ll be giving advice to me about everything. She’s a very smart lady.”

Donna is a part of the Age of Possibility campaign, “aims to reflect age 50+ for what it really is: a vibrant stage of life, full of new questions, changes, opportunities, and hopes,” per its press release.

To complement the Age of Possibility campaign, QVC has introduced the Quintessential 50 (Q50), comprised of a group of women, namely QVC hosts, celebrities, activists, entrepreneurs, and more, whose experiences and achievements prove the possibilities that this time of life offers for women. Donna is a proud member of the group, which also stars Queen Latifah, Naomi Watts, and Martha Stewart, among others.

While some commenters criticized the reporter’s question, many praised Donna’s response. “You can tell she really respects boundaries and never makes it about herself,” a commenter said. Another wrote: “Donna handled that well,” adding, “that’s such a wild question.”

Others pointed out that the context of the event made the question less surprising, considering it was celebrating women over 50. “Question is appropriate as menopause is something older women go through,” another person wrote. “Putting Taylor’s name was odd but question I’m general not out of place.”

Though the reporter may have caught Donna off guard, her willingness to talk about menopause to publicly is a step in the right direction for all women. She’s in good company; former celebrities have spoken out about their bodies and menopause. In November of 2023, Gabrielle Union spoke with NewBeauty about the complicated world of menopause and shared some advice of her own, recommending the Nu Lash Serum. “You know, when you’re dealing with hormonal hair loss, your eye lashes and your brows might fall out too! So, I’ve been using Nu Lash since before they changed the packaging,” she said. “This is not sponsored, I’m just a disciple! It has really been key for maintaining my lashes. I don’t really go out without using it.”

Another celebrity offering great advice? Taraji P. Henson. “It’s natural, and it’s normal,” she told NewBeauty this past January. “My best advice is to find your tribe and a strong support system. Don’t be afraid to talk about it, whether it’s with friends, family, or your medical caretaker.

Suffering in silence is never okay, and the more we share our experiences, the better we can educate each other and younger women so they know what to expect. Ask all the questions you need to get the answers for your journey if you are experiencing bladder leaks. Products like Always Discreet help provide solutions and relief to help you feel prepared, protected and in control.”
