Crystal Minkoff has kind of cracked the code on staying cool while filming in the Real Housewives franchise, and we are fully invested. On the highlight reel every time we talk to the Beverly Hills mom: How utterly simple—she’s a big Costco person, even when it comes to beauty products—she likes to keep it. Here’s what she has on tap wellness-wise this summer.
“I just started getting massages more regularly. My husband has always loved them, but I always felt like I can’t do them. It felt more stressful to me to lie there for an hour or two and not have access to the kids or work or whatever. I know it’s so terrible, but I’m just trying to give myself that gift in a way of checking out for a bit.”
Take a Hike:
“I’ve been hiking more. It’s funny, when I film, I don’t know why but working out is so hard. I don’t have the time, so now I’ve been really committed to it. Every day I either walk the dogs or I go on a hike or do my Tonal.”
“I’m really into facial oil right now. I feel like they have literally changed my skin. I think I had drier skin than I thought, so I put on oil multiple times a day. It’s really made a difference for me.”
“Sunscreen is my go-to. It’s easier for me to apply SPF than to take medicine [laughs]. It’s my morning and midday regimen, all times, every day.”
“I just started going to Biologique Recherche LA—the new location on Melrose. I love their facials. It’s a favorite.”
“I’ve been doing a little wellness shot every morning—it has a lot of ginger and turmeric, lemon. It really helps start my day. I find that if I forget to do it, I feel very different. It’s really good for anti-inflammatory and antioxidants. I put a lot of black pepper in it, too!”
“I prefer a fresh face, but I do need to get my makeup done when we’re filming the show. I love my girls! They know how to make me feel really good and they know how to do enough makeup for television, but where I still feel like myself. I would say when we have big events, like all cast events, I have my team come, but if it’s one-on-one or a smaller thing, I’ll just do it myself.
“My kids just got out of school and I’m excited to spend time with them this summer. In years before, I always felt like I needed to book from day one—the camps and stuff like that to keep them busy. This year, they’re going to do it sporadically, but we also have weeks that we just have nothing to do—weeks that we left open for random adventures. Right now, I’m planning on going to Asia for about a month. I’m looking forward to that and golfing with the kids. I’m excited. Summer is really my opportunity to be with them.”
