Quarantine hair is definitely a thing—my strands have been drier and more brittle than ever due to being stuck inside (they need some extra TLC during these times). However, it looks like I’m not the only one dealing with some breakage. Yesterday, Carrie Ann Inaba, host of The Talk on ABC, shared that she’s been experiencing her own hair hardships, too.
“Everyone has their own special needs when it comes to hair care, but if you have autoimmune conditions like I do it can complicate this process even more,” she writes on Instagram.
A combination of the symptoms and medications she takes for her conditions takes a heavy toll on her hair. Among the struggles are hair loss, dryness and breakage, “so hair is always something I’m concerned about,” Inaba adds. “My hair also goes through a lot of wear and tear from washing and styling.”
While others took a break from the makeup and hair tools over quarantine, Inaba says they’ve been essential for her as she tuned-in to over 100 live episodes of The Talk from home. “That rate of at-home treatment can have its own repercussions on hair without the proper attention and care,” she adds. As a result, she’s relying on the products that just get it done.
On her blog, the host shares “Her Seven Essential Products For Healthy Hair Care.” “I love to use Olaplex on my hair because it’s both thick and moisturizing,” she writes, adding that her go-tos are the Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo ($28) and the Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfecter Repairing Treatment ($28).
Also in the mix is the Shiseido Tsubaki Damage Care Shampoo and Conditioner Set ($29), Terax Crema Ultra Moisturizing Daily Conditioner ($46), It’s a 10 Haircare Miracle Hair Mask ($32), Philip B Oud Royal Thermal Protection Spray ($18) and Rogaine 2 Percent Minoxidil Topical Solution ($46).
