Any time we’re offered a page out of Brooke Shields’ ageless playbook, we don’t hesitate to dive in. The 56-year-old actress and supermodel sat down with Glamour to unveil the skin-care products she can’t live without, along with the in-office treatments she trusts to keep her looking her best.
Shields says she visits two different New York City dermatologists depending on her concern. “I go to Dr. Liz Hale for sun damage and sun spots, such as Fraxel. I primarily go to Dr. Macrene Alexiades for treatments, such as peels and the Genesis treatment. I just don’t want a lot of pain or downtime,” she explains.
The supermodel visits her derm for off-the-face treatments too. “Macrene has a really, really, really powerful laser treatment that is removing a tattoo that I have,” she reveals. However, Shields is steadfast one one thing: remaining true to herself. “I don’t wanna change the shape of my face; I just want the quality of my skin to be optimal. I have lines around my mouth, but if I touch them up, I won’t look like myself.”
As True Botanicals’ latest spokesperson, it’s only fitting Shields incorporates a handful of the brand’s elegant products into her routine. The A-lister’s current favorites: Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm, “which dissolves everything,” she says, Radiance Eye Cream, Renew Pure Radiance Oil, Active Serum, and Chebula Extreme Cream, along with the brand’s powder Vitamin C Booster. “I’ll put a concentrated amount, like a little paste, and at night I’ll put it on the dark spots,” she says of the booster. “Over time it lightens up. It stays potent until the last minute. When it’s a liquid, it loses its potency.”
Additional supermodel-approved formulas include the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, Tata Harper Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Floral Essence, Long Island Livestock Company Shepherdess Body Butter, Supergoop! Glow Screen SPF 40 and Grande Cosmetics GrandeLash MD Lash Enhancing Serum.
