When Ginny and Georgia star Brianne Howey married Matt Ziering mid-summer, she was very much looking forward to a “relaxing honeymoon with a romantic backdrop” come fall. Aruba’s Ritz-Carlton fit the bill, as did the island’s priority on travel protocols, health and safety, Howey shares. Also on the agenda: Lots and lots of Supergoop!, spa treatments and doing absolutely nothing in the sand.

Vacation Mode

“It was absolutely incredible. You have to check out Aruba. I definitely packed a bunch of sunscreen; I was wearing a lot of Supergoop 50. You’re so close to the equator down there, so the sun is strong, but it truly has the greatest weather year-round. I also packed my Biologique Recherche. I love their lotion P50! And I packed my Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil. I was lathering that on all day and night.”

Bridal Prep

“Leading up to the wedding, beauty-wise, I was using a lot of the La Mer Regenerating Serum and the Revitalizing-Hydrating one, too. I feel like when I put those on at night, it’s so smoothing.”

Fly Zone

“We really wanted to only go somewhere if we felt comfortable and safe. For Aruba, you have to provide a negative PCR test and going through those motions allows you to relax once you get there—because you know that you’re healthy and safe and you know that everyone else who’s there with you is also healthy and safe. The island makes it incredibly easy. You download an app, you buy a quick $15 insurance, you show them your negative COVID tests. It’s a complete breeze.”

Spa Stories

“I had a stress-relief massage as soon as I got there. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, and the spa is absolutely stunning. It was so, so beautiful. They have all these private little areas for relaxing and they have the Jacuzzis with the rose petals, so that was beautiful. All of the products that they’re using are really organic and super safe, and I found out that Aruba is the oldest producer of aloe, so the ingredient is incorporated into a lot of therapeutic products.”

Coming Attractions

“I am so excited about season 2 [of Ginny and Georgia]. We leave very soon to start shooting and we shoot that over in Toronto. We’ll be there all winter, which is also one of the reasons why Aruba couldn’t have been more perfect because it was so warm and tropical. Season two, look, I can definitely share that we up the ante. The stakes are so, so high and that is all I can say!”
