Eyes, as the saying goes, are the windows to the soul. But as a natural part of growing older, the skin around eyes can develop fine lines and crow’s feet, which can take away from even the most bright-eyed beings.

Good thing in our tech-advanced world, there’s a new product from Skyn Iceland: Dissolving Microneedle Eye Patches ($14 per pair).

Anything with the word “needle” in it may sound scary, but take it from someone who used the patches twice over the past week—it’s completely pain-free. If anything, the tiny spikes gave off a tingly sensation that I found to be quite uplifting. How “micro” is each needle, exactly? According to Sarah Kugeman, CEO and founder of Skyn Iceland, it’s finer than a strand of hair.

Here’s how it works: after cleansing your face, add a thin layer of Brightening Eye Serum ($40) then peel the clear backing from the treatment patch. Go ahead and gently press it onto your skin for about 5-10 seconds under and around the outer corner of your eye. Packed with 39% regenerative hyaluronic acid and anti-aging peptides, the dissolving microneedles (there are more than 1,000 in each patch!) does its magic by penetrating the active ingredients deeply into your pores.

Leave it on for one to two hours or overnight for maximum absorption. No worries if you toss and turn with it on while sleeping—the adhesive has a super strong grip so you can rest assured it won’t slide off. When I removed the patch after 8 hours, the microneedles melted away and I found the slight crease under my tired-looking eyes to be less visible and smoother with (sigh of relief) no trace of redness.

Even if your skin isn’t wrinkled per se, these vegan patches can help hydrate, firm and smooth your under-eye area. It works for all skin types and ages, too, so it might be worth stocking up for your next girls’-night-in party.
