The music icon and entrepreneur just dropped the second fragrance in her Parfums line called Cé Lumière, a fresh new scent inspired by light and designed to be the perfect foil to last year’s moody debut, Cé Noir. While the latter channeled deep, mysterious vibes, Cé Lumière brings an uplifting brightness—think radiance in a bottle.
To be perfectly clear, we’re eagerly awaiting our own bottle of Cé Lumière (that’ll change soon when we place our preorder), but the fragrance notes shared on Beyoncé’s official site paint a vibrant picture of what to expect. The perfume opens with citrusy Italian mandarin and warm Madagascar black pepper, leading into a heart of jasmine sambac and rhubarb. It finishes with an earthy base of Indonesian patchouli and soft musk.
“Any venture or project that Beyoncé does, there is always a clear intent,” shares Janki Lalani Gandhi, managing director of Parkwood Ventures, the company behind Beyoncé’s fragrance line, in an interview with WWD. “With fragrance, the approach is to launch one new scent a year that ties to her universe and captures an extraordinary moment in time in her continuum, setting the mood of that period and bringing the wearer back to that feeling.”
