Those who know me know I always have Bath & Body Works’ Foaming Hand Soaps at every sink in my house and I rotate them depending on the season. Right now, my lineup includes Island Papaya, Kitchen Mandarin and Sea & Sandstone, which is a new scent for the brand that gives fun, beachy vibes. As parents of a toddler, my husband and I are constantly washing our hands, and we go through A LOT of soap. So when I heard the news that Bath & Body Works was finally launching refills, I was over the moon.

Most of us (and the brands we love) are trying to move toward a more sustainable lifestyle, especially with our beauty and personal-care products, and this allows me to feel better about one of my favorite household indulgences. Here, the scoop on the refills and other exciting changes to the formulas, according to BBW’s merchandising team.

Behind the Switch

It’s no surprise that Soap Refills have been a top customer request, so as of today, we can now get 32-ounce recyclable carton refills (for the Foaming Hand Soaps only), which is enough to refill the plastic bottle 3.6 times. “We feel passionately about offering this form to address sustainability, affordability and convenience for our customer,” the team told me. “The carton is also 100-percent recyclable in most curbside recycling programs.”

The Refills are only available in select scents as of now, but there’s something for everyone. “Our starting lineup will include a broad range of top fragrances: Kitchen Lemon, Black Cherry Merlot, Mahogany Teakwood, Champagne Toast, White Tea & Sage, and Crisp Morning Air, with the potential for more in the future,” said the brand.

And if that weren’t enough, ALL of Bath & Body Works’ Hand Soaps (not just the foam) will now, as of today, be made without parabens, sulfates or dyes, and will be housed in bottles made with at least 50-percent recycled plastic. You can also expect to see skin-care ingredients like essential oils, vitamin E, shea extract and aloe in the formulas for hand care and cleansing in one step.
