This All-Natural Mud Mask Gives You Glowy Skin in Just 2 Minutes

You’ve got to try this one.

When I was first introduced to Whish a few years ago, I quickly fell in love with their yummy-scented body butters and sugar scrubs (the almond one is a little piece of heaven). Then the shaving cream came across my desk, which became a staple in my shower. So, needless to say when I heard the brand was diving head first into skin care with a full line of powerful yet natural products, I was chomping at the bit to try them.

My favorite, hands down, was the Renewing Mud Mask ($44), which I think deserves to be renamed “magic mud.” Whereas most masks, especially mud and clay types, take between 10 and 20 minutes to deliver the goods, this one only takes two! Plus, not only does it work to pull impurities out of your skin (what we’ve come to expect from mud formulations), but it also pumps your skin with anti-aging ingredients like rose hip oil, which combats dark spots and fine lines, and bakuchiol, the line’s prized antioxidant. According to Whish, research shows that bakuchiol has retinol-like effects on skin without the dryness and irritation that tends to come with it. Another perk: It had a fresh, almost fruity scent, which was a nice surprise considering many mud and clay masks tend to smell medicinal or sulphuric.

When two minutes was up and I rinsed the mask off, I will admit my skin was quite red and splotchy for about five or 10 minutes, but there was no burning or stinging. As soon as the redness dissipated, I was left with a glowy, softer-than-ever complexion. And better yet, the night cream I applied shortly after soaked right into my skin on contact thanks to the exfoliating action of the mask.
