Follow Little Fires Everywhere star Reese Witherspoon on Instagram for a couple of days and you'll be wondering one thing: How does she have all that energy, and how does she still look so young?

Between juggling three kids, her retail brand Draper James, her own book club (aptly named Reese's Book Club, which has garnered more than one million followers on Instagram alone), and not to mention her bustling acting career, 44-year-old Witherspoon still always seems to be brimming with energy. The secret—also likely the answer to her young complexion—might have everything to do with a specific green drink she says she's been making every morning for nine years.

The recipe, shared on her Instagram on Tuesday, didn't come from her nutritionist or online article. Instead, Witherspoon's good friend and Little Fires cast-mate Kerry Washington tipped her off to it years ago.

"I sat next to[Kerry ] at an awards show and I didn’t really know her, but I was like, 'Yourskin is so beautiful, what do you do?'" Washington's response creditedthis very drink. "It's really changed my skin and it makes my hair and nailsreally strong," Washington said.

Witherspoon walked her Instagram followers through the exact recipe—and we're taking notes. "It has a lot of vegetables in it, so I have this instead of breakfast. I have it around 10 or 11 in the morning, and I'm not hungry at all until one o'clock." Reese puts a handful of spinach, two heads of romaine lettuce, one apple, one pear, one banana and one lemon (seeds and all) into her Vitamix and tops it off with about a half cup of coconut water before hitting blend.

The bones shouldstay as-is, but Witherspoon notes anything you'd like can be added to thesmoothie. "You can put anything green from the refrigerator," shesays. "If you have lettuce and you didn’t make that salad that you wantedto make, you can put it in there." She also suggests protein powder, almond butter or flaxseeds to round it out.

The result sounds huge because it is. However, Witherspoon says the recipe makes two portions, so she leaves half in the fridge for the next morning—because very minute counts when you're Reese Witherspoon.
