Yesterday, as actress Nicole Richie was celebrating her 40th birthday, a slight mishap occurred as she was blowing out her candles.
Sharing an Instagram video of her hair catching fire, Richie captions the clip, "Well...So far 40 is 🔥." While, thankfully, the fire did not burn too much of her hair off or cause any injuries, her ends were definitely sizzled by the time she patted the flames out.
The comment section of her post was flooded with celeb commentary, with Chelsea Handler saying, "Happy birthday, baby! Welcome to your 40’s, where the party really gets started. Xx," Amy Schumer writing, "Oh my gawwwwd," and Benjamin Madden saying, "Happy Birthday Sis love you and thankful for you always ❤️🎉 stay lit 🔥."
Although her birthday celebration ended with a bang, she had a long (flame-free) day of celebration beforehand alongside younger sister Sofia Richie, father Lionel Richie and friends to ring in the big 4-0.
