If you’re new to collagen powder, medical aesthetician Amy Peterson previously told NewBeauty what it is and how your body might benefit from it as a supplement. “As we age, the body’s natural collagen production decreases, which leads to signs of aging like wrinkles and skin laxity,” she explains. “Collagen plays a crucial role in joint health, as well, and can aid in the recovery of injuries by providing structural support to tissues. It can be derived through diet or through supplements like powders, capsules and topical skincare. The goal of collagen intake is to improve skin health, joint function and overall wellness.”

Wellness Greens

You’ve probably come across greens powders before, whether on social media or a regular part of your wellness regimen. They’re a convenient way to incorporate more vitamin mineral-rich greens into your diet. With natural flavors of spinach and lemon, these greens are perfect for mixing with your favorite juice or blending into a smoothie.

However, greens powder shouldn’t replace your actual leafy greens. After all, greens powders often doesn’t have enough (if any) fiber, “which most Americans fall short of in their diets on a daily basis,” holistic nutritionist Jennifer Hanway previously told NewBeauty. (Stewart’s have one gram per serving which is four percent of your daily recommendation.)

“Fiber is essential for blood sugar balance, optimizing our hunger hormones, maintaining healthy cholesterol levels and keeping our gut health and digestion in check,” Hanway continues. “It is definitely much easier to drink a glass of water with powder mixed in than eat a large bowl of broccoli, but it can not replace a fiber-rich diet.”
