If you’re looking for a weekend Netflix binge, it’s time to add Altered Carbon season 2 to the list. The hit show debuted last weekend and star Lela Loren (also of Power fame) is getting rave reviews for her role as governor Danica Harlan, a powerful force that has a bit of “flare for fashion.” Like her character, Loren has a passion too—only it’s for skin care, everything beauty-related, and a little bit of spa. She recently spoke with us about some of the products she stockpiles:

You’ve said that you’re big on cleansing at the end of the day—any current favorites?
My end of day cleansing routine is simple and efficient, which is all I can handle after a long day. I have dry skin, so nothing that strips its oils: Neutrogena Night Calming wipes ($6.49) followed by Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, and perhaps some Bioderma if I have a stubborn mascara that needs to be removed.

And you’ve said you stock Neutrogena wipes! Anything else you always have backups of?
I generally have backups of Dr. Dennis Gross Universal Daily Peel Pads ($88), In Fiore Calendula Oil ($175), good vitamin C serum, and in the winter, I really love Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream ($68) and Mist ($48).

Out of all your roles, which has been the hardest with glam?
I wouldn’t say any of them have been hard. My character in Altered Carbon, Danica Harlan, had simple hair and makeup.

On American Gods, I wear my hair curly and have almost no makeup on in most of the episodes. The only challenge there was I would have to wake up two hours earlier to let my hair air-dry because my curls don’t like a diffuser.

You have a lot of different roles and lots of different projects going on; what do you do to decompress?
I like to get out of the city, visit my family and friends, and get off the grid.

What are you looking forward to this spring?
I love when all the flowers start blooming, especially the cherry blossoms in the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

You live in NY—a mecca of wellness, skin care, spas—any local favorites?
I’m a fan of Great Jones Spa in the Bowery. I’ve always had a great soak and massage there.
