Gracie McGraw, the talented 26-year-old singer daughter of country music power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, recently responded to online criticism regarding her weight loss. In a series of images posted in her bathing suit, Gracie sarcastically captioned, “It’s a gorgeous day for narcissism!” Unfortunately, many negative comments implied that Gracie had relied on the popular diabetic drug Ozempic to achieve her weight loss, prompting her to address the speculation head-on.

McGraw replied, “I did use Ozempic last year, yes. I am now on a low dose of Mounjaro for my PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) as well as working out. No need to accuse when I have been open about it,” she wrote to shut down the assumptions.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a hormonal disorder that affects many women, characterized by enlarged ovaries with small cysts. It can cause weight gain, irregular periods, acne, and other symptoms. Ozempic and Mounjaro (semaglutide and tirzepatide) have shown promise in regulating hormones and supporting weight management in those with PCOS.

Gracie’s Weight Loss Journey

This isn’t the first time she has talked about her PCOS diagnosis. Back in 2022 the singer explained that she exhibited four out of the five characteristics of the syndrome. “During my appointment with my endocrinologist I realized that may had been a factor in my issues with weight, so we decided to try a medicine to regulate my body more normally and create the tools to continue to keep my body and myself healthy as I get older,” she wrote at the time. “For anyone asking for medication, I was prescribed Qysmia and Ozempic. Ozempic is also given to patients who are diabetic, I am not diabetic. So, I do not know how it works in that regard,” she noted back then.

McGraw’s story shows the how a lack of information can spread false information about people dealing with specific health concerns. Access to drugs like semaglutide and tirzepatide is crucial for people with PCOS as they can help regulate hormonal imbalances, manage weight, improve insulin sensitivity and alleviate symptoms associated with the condition.
