MTV’s Movie & TV Awards may have been a few days ago, but celebrity makeup artist Shadi Malek is still getting asked what exactly went into the (safe) sun-kissed glam steps for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Dorit Kemsley's glowing look.
"Dorit wore vintage Chanel to the show, so we wanted to go clean and simple with the glam—but bronzed and have her skin glow from underneath the makeup," Malek shares.
For the skin-care prep, Malek went with La Mer "Miracle Broth" Serum ($400), followed by The Wilds The AM Moisturizer ($124). "Then, we used Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation ($65) mixed with Beverly Beach Bronzer ($68) [Kemsley founded the line] to add more bronze to the skin."
Malek says the secret to any look with Dorit is playing up the eyes: "Dorit has the most beautiful eyes, so we wanted to emphasis them with the House of Lashes Double Siren Lash ($9). She loves this lash because it’s a full-volume lash that’s longer in the center to really open the eyes up."
For the lip, it was another custom mix via MAKE UP FOR EVER Lipstick ($25) and the shimmering-pink Lover to Lover NARS Lip Gloss ($26) on top, which Malek says worked particularly well as "it’s a subtle gloss but it has gold shimmer, which went with the gold shimmer in her vintage Chanel outfit."
