Blush is arguably the most talked-about makeup product of the moment (thanks, TikTok), so we're gathering any and all tips we can on how to use it to our advantage. In a recent article for The Zoe Report, Emma Roberts' makeup artist, Vincent Oquendo, shared his blush tricks for getting faces looking angled, contoured and tight every time—and we're taking notes.

To sculpt and lift the cheeks, Oquendo says he doubles up on the blush formulas. “The number-one thing to keep in mind pending what texture blush you’re using, the other stuff should follow suit," he says, meaning a powder should be packed on top of a cream when looking to mix textures (this also boosts the staying power of your look). If you're only using a cream formula, Oquendo recommends reaching for a small pointed blush brush to apply. "If it’s too stiff, it’s going to turn out streaky and that’s not what you want to do," he warns.

Another tip Oquendo offers is applying your blush and bronzer in the same area to help "hollow out" the cheeks. While he suggests blending out the blush until it's smooth, the makeup artist advises against over-blending the contour. Following this tip will ensure your cheekbones look sculpted and snatched.
