Baby Powder Recall: What to Know
Just yesterday, home healthcare company Dynarex announced a recall on a large batch of their Dynacare Baby Powder after a routine FDA sampling program found the batch to be contaminated with asbestos. Often found near talc or talc-based products, asbestos—a naturally occurring mineral and known carcinogen—can find its way into talc-based products when not mined thoroughly.
In total, 62 cases have been recalled, all from Dynarex batch B 051, and an investigation into the cause of the contamination is still underway. While no illnesses associated with the contamination have been reported, customers who have purchased the recalled baby powder are urged to return the product to stores for a full refund.
