Decked out in head-to-toe Dior, The Queen's Gambit's Anya Taylor-Joy stunned on the 2021 Emmys red carpet, and the contrast of her peaches-and-cream complexion with her bold red lip and platinum updo had heads turning. According to celebrity makeup artist Georgie Eisdell, the inspiration for Taylor-Joy's look came from her Dior Haute Couture gown. "I kept her eyes soft and classic to complement the pale yellow gown, and chose a bright-red lip, which perfectly complemented her yellow opera coat and jewels."
After prepping Taylor-Joy's porcelain skin with Dior Capture Totale C.E.L.L. Energy Super Potent Serum, next up was Capture Dreamskin Care & Perfect, a velvety emulsion that should be applied as the last step in a skin-care routine to make your makeup look even better. "For her base, I used the Dior Forever Skin Glow #0N, Forever Skin Correct #1N and the new Forever Cushion Powder #010 Fair," says Eisdell. "Then I used the Backstage Contour Palette for dimension and applied the Rouge Blush #361 Millefiori [a limited-edition pink powder] for a bit of color to her cheeks."
On the eyelids, Eisdell applied Diorshow Mono Couleur Couture #530 Tulle and #480 Poncho. "Next, I coated both her top and bottom lashes with Diorshow Mascara #090 Pro Black." Finally, she defined the actress's brows with Diorshow Brow Styler #011 Blonde.
And last but not least, all of you beauty-obsessives can probably guess which iconic red lip color Taylor-Joy is wearing from the House of Dior: #999. "I created a statement red lip with Dior Contour #080 Red Smile and Rouge Dior Ultra Care Liquid #999 to complete her look."
