The Schitt’s Creek Emmy sweep is the stuff of legends, as is Annie Murphy’s award-winning portrayal of Alexis Rose. The Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy winner took home the award in a black Valentino suit and sheer blouse, topped off with bold, red unforgettable lip.
Murphy’s makeup artist Lucky Bromhead revealed on her Instagram feed that the lipstick of choice was none other than drugstore standout Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick ($10) in the shade Heroine. According to the makeup artist, the intense fiery red shade was useful underneath the new awards show essential: “Because you can still rock a red lip under a COVID-19 mask! ?, ” wrote Bromhead.
For luck and a little bit Alexis, Murphy also rocked a gold necklace that she’s worn as her infamous character. Now we can only hope these historic wins means we haven’t seen the last of Alexis or Murphy, as the shade name implies, they’re both true heroines in their own right.
