Dance as often as possible. Why? Not only does if feel great, but busting a move is one of the easiest ways to burn calories without feeling like you’re “working out.” That means all your excuses as to why you can’t possibly make it to the gym will go right out the window.
One celebrity in particular has figured out this sneaky secret, and credits it as the reason her body looks so great. To keep her toned figure, Denise Richards dances as much as possible. In the latest issue of NewBeauty Spa+ magazine, she stresses the importance of finding things you enjoy when working out, saying, “I don’t like gyms or running. I love dance and Pilates. It gives my body a long, lean look.”
She incorporates Physique 57, which is a combination of Pilates and ballet barre movements, into her workouts. Denise also loves to go to the spa to dance—although an unlikely place, some spas offer great dance “escapes.” She took Louis Van Amstel’s Dance Blast class at Canyon Ranch, where she says it’s “so fun to go for a few days with your girlfriends and work out and eat healthy.” Canyon Ranch offers regularly occurring dance-themed programs including a DJ Dance Party with a live DJ and Let’s Dance, which focuses on a different dance each day.
