It’s Sydney Sweeney’s birthday, she’s up for two Emmy nominations, and we just found the drugstore product that gave this “it girl” that super shiny, voluminous hair look for tonight’s very special event.
According to celebrity hairstylist Glen Oropeza the inspiration for the look was something “totally different.”
“We’ve been wanting to do a completely new look for some time and tonight felt like the right moment knowing what a big night it is for Sydney,” he shares. “Our reference was Jennifer Lawrence when she cut her hair into a long bob when she was almost platinum. We thought this fresh cut and style would complement the back of the dress beautifully along with the neckline. We wanted something new and effortless to contrast her dress.”
Behind the look: On wet hair, Oropeza applied Nexxus Weightless Style Smooth & Full Blow Dry Balm ($11) all over, “focusing most of the product on the ends of the hair to heat protect, offer frizz control and boost volume.” Next, he used the all-in-one dryer-styler Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System, taking small sections of the hair and drying outwards from the crown, beginning from the back of the head and moving toward the front. “The round brush attachment gives you complete control over the shape of the hair,” Oropeza explains. “Complete the look by adding some soft bends and curls into the hair, and you’re done!”
