The SPF This Makeup Artist Says Works Double-Duty as a Blurring Primer

With six-plus years of industry experience and a client list that includes the likes of Charli D’Amelio, Ashley Tisdale, Noah Cyrus, Stassi Schroeder, and Tinx, Los Angeles–based celebrity makeup artist Hailey Hoff is quickly making her Instagram as the place to go for a little California-cool, creative makeup inspiration that lets glowing skin shine through.

So we had to ask: What sunscreen is her go-to when working on faces in the sunny state?

"The Block Star by Bliss ($25) is the sunscreen I use on my clients," she shares, adding that she also uses the green tea–rich, sheer mineral SPF 30 product on herself. "I like it because it acts as an amazing blurring primer under foundation."

Also in Hoff's kit: The Rose De Mai Oil by Chantecaille ($190), a botanical-powered nourisher she likes for the prep step. "I like it because it really hydrates the skin and it works on all skin types. It helps the foundation lay on the skin much smoother and all of my clients love the way it feels on their skin.

Every client I’ve ever used it on always asks, “What is that? It feels and smells so good!”
