If anyone knows how to move, it’s Shakira. And you’ve got to give it to her—all that moving has done wonders for the singer’s body. The 36-year-old, who just gave birth to a son earlier this year, recently debuted on the new season of The Voice and you can’t help but envy her beautifully curvy physique.
So how does she stay in such great shape? Well, besides dancing on stage, Shakira shakes it behind the scenes too. She recently said in an interview that she takes Zumba classes and continued to do so almost until the end of her pregnancy.
Shakira’s personal trainer, Anna Kaiser, the founder of AKT INMOTION and has been working with Shakira for over four years now and offers the star pulse-pounding dance-based interval training which “strategically mixes sweat inducing dance cardio with strength and flexibility.”
And as for food, to keep her 4ft 11in body looking lean, Shakira stays on a pretty strict diet of fish and fresh vegetables, and has meat only one day a week.
“You want to be skinny and have a good body? You have to work out every day and say no to certain foods,” Shakira said back in 2009, “You can’t achieve anything in life without a small amount of sacrifice.”
But even at that, the singer says she wouldn’t be so concerned about losing her baby weight if it weren’t for her career on-camera. “My dad says that there’s nothing better than a little meat on the bone!”
