How would you feel about performing your own facial at the spa? It sounds a little strange at first since we usually head to the spa to indulge in the practitioner’s devoted care. However, self-service trends are on the rise, like serving your own frozen yogurt and printing your own photos at kiosks in pharmacies.
However, some people who know the spa drill appreciate the freedom that comes with selecting and managing their own treatments. Introducing this concept countrywide is Planet Beach Contempo Spa, a day spa that has expanded to nearly 400 locations. The premise is simple: spa goers buy a membership and select from various automated treatments such as oxygen therapy, aqua massage, the Luminous facial and spray tanning. There’s also a hydro-derma fusion treatment, which combines infrared heat and steam to deeply cleanse pores and hydrate skin.
It may not be as relaxing as being led through a treatment by a practitioner, but would you treat yourself to more massages or guided meditations if you had the freedom to stop by at your convenience?
