In honor of World Mental Health Day, Sephora is donating 100 percent of Rare Beauty’s global sales today, October 10, to the brand’s Rare Impact Fund. If you’re unfamiliar with the organization, it was founded by Selena Gomez—just like Rare Beauty—with the mission of expanding access to mental health services and resources, especially for underserved communities.
For the next 24 hours, anything you purchase at Sephora, Sephora at Kohl’s, or on the retailer’s website will contribute to this important cause. This marks the second year Gomez and Sephora have teamed up for this initiative—the first was last year, when the brand raised over two million dollars, according to its 2023 Rare Beauty Social Impact Report.
“I’m incredibly grateful to continue our partnership with Sephora for World Mental Health Day,” Gomez said in a press statement. “When I launched the Rare Impact Fund my goal was to expand access to mental health services and education for young people– something I craved in my own youth. The mental health crisis continues to impact young people disproportionately and partners like SEPHORA are instrumental, not only by believing in this mission, but by contributing crucial funds to expand mental health resources for the young people who need them.”
The Rare Impact Fund was founded in 2020, the same year as her beauty brand. Its mission, per its website, is to “mobilize 100 million in philanthropic dollars to distribute to trusted organizations that align with our vision and mission.” Rare Beauty typically donates one percent of sales to the Rare Impact Fund, with today’s 100 percent donation being a special exception.
