The 2018 Academy Award red carpet served as the backdrop from the ultimate Oscar’s dress throwback moment when 86-year-old Rita Moreno arrived in the same dress she wore 56 years earlier when she won Best Supporting Actress for her role in West Side Story. The actress, who first donned the dress in 1962, did the unimaginable by fitting into the same dress she wore at 30 years old when she made history by becoming the first Latino actor to win the prestigious award.

“This is a 56-year-old gown that I wore when I won my Oscar in 1962. This is the dress,” said Moreno when asked about her fashon choice on the red carpet. “It’s been hanging in my closet and I go and stroke it now and then. I just love—it was an amazing night. They didn’t have a red carpet then, it was so different.”

The current star of Netflix’s One Day at a Time showed she still has the same enviable figure she had when she shot to fame with her iconic role of Anita, singing and dancing her way into what would turn out to be a lifelong career on Broadway and in film and television. Moreno, no stranger to breaking boundaries, is also known as being one of only 12 stars who have earned EGOT status by winning the four biggest awards in entertainment: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Tonight she may have even won the Oscars red carpet with the best throwback look of all time.
