Nicole Richie was a vision at the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood, California, on Saturday, November 9. The actress and House of Harlow 1960 designer turned heads in a stunning purple Lanvin gown complete with a turtleneck, long sleeves and intricate floral detailing. But as breathtaking as her outfit was, we couldn’t take our eyes off her flawless, poreless-looking skin. According to her makeup artist, Mai Quynh, she prepped Richie’s radiant complexion with just one skin-care brand—and if you’re like us, we’re guessing you’re all ears to find out which one.
For the event, Quynh teamed up with the science-backed skin-care brand Fig.1 Beauty, cofounded by board-certified dermatologist Courtney Rubin, MD, in 2021. Among its bestselling products were several essentials Quynh used to prep Richie’s skin before makeup. Here’s the breakdown from the pro herself: “I started Nicole’s skin prep by applying Fig. 1 Micellar Oil Cleanser ($24) to her skin to remove any impurities or leftover makeup,” Quynh explained. “Once her skin was cleansed, I applied Fig. 1 Hydrating & Balancing Toner ($34) with a cotton pad to layer hydration onto her skin. Then, I applied Fig. 1 Ceramide Moisturizer ($34) all over her face to lock in moisture and use as a base before makeup.”
Next, Quynh “dotted Fig. 1 Vitamin C Eye Cream ($36) to her outer eye area to brighten and reduce any signs of fatigue.” And last but not least? “I prepped her lips with Fig. 1 ReviveLip Enzyme Mask ($16) while I started her makeup so her lips would become soft and smooth by the end of her makeup application when it was time to apply lip color.”
If Richie’s final glam look is any indication, the duo perfected a flawless base. Richie stood out with soft, natural glam, complete with voluminous lashes and plum-colored eyeshadow that enhanced her natural beauty. “I wanted to keep her skin glowing and her makeup soft and chic with hints of pink and plums,” said Quynh in a press statement. She nailed the look, don’t you think?
