In April, NewBeauty readers mastered the art of a high/low beauty routine. Our audience jumped at the chance to try a $6,000 just-launched-in-the-US at-home laser (that’s already making waves for delivering results that rival in-office treatments) while also buying an under-$30 skin protectant cream that’s consistently recommended by dermatologists for post-treatment skin care in bulk. Other standouts include tinted moisturizers that check all the boxes for perfecting skin over 40 (no foundation needed), a classic ceramide serum that “can take up to 10 years off the appearance of your skin,” and a stunning sapphire jelly nail polish that is an elegant twist on one of our favorite summer nail trends: sea glass nails. But that’s just a few of the top 10—keep scrolling for everything NewBeauty readers couldn’t stop buying in April.
LYMA Laser Pro ($5,995)
“An evolution of the original LYMA Laser, the PRO triples the size and power, treating a larger area in less time while penetrating even deeper into the skin,” writes our editor on the LYMA Laser Pro, which finally debuted in the US on April 15. Omorovicza Elixir ($225)
Another new April launch, Omorovicza’s Elixir “harnesses four times the amount of the brand’s patented Healing Concentrate” in addition to sage, pumpkin seed and sunflower sprout. Use it to hydrate skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost radiance, improve skin texture, correct hyperpigmentation and strengthen the skin barrier. According to the brand, 97 percent of people who used this Elixir in testing said “it transformed their skin.”
Jones Road Just Enough Tinted Moisturizer ($44)
Jones Road’s Just Enough Tinted Moisturizer launched on April 8, and based on my personal experience, Bobbi Brown’s latest launch expertly masters the no-makeup makeup look. With glycerin, sodium hyaluronate and vitamin E, it hydrates, evens skin tone and camouflages fine lines with a soft, airbrush-like finish.
Avène’s Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream ($26)
Our editor deemed Avène’s Cicalfate+ “pretty much royalty” among cult-classic beauty products. Dermatologists and editors have long loved the hero product, and it also has Hailey Bieber’s seal of approval. The model and Rhode founder recently revealed Avène’s Cicalfate+ to be one of her three can’t-live-without skin-care products.
Gelcare Sapphire Jelly Gel Nail Polish ($20)
“To capture those deep cobalt blue pieces of sea glass opt for this gemstone-inspired jelly shade,” writes our editor of Gelcare’s Sapphire Jelly nail polish, a dark, regal blue that you can wear year-round.
Nécessaire The Body Serum ($48)
With five molecular weights of pure hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, The Body Serum will hydrate, plump and replenish every inch of skin from the chin down.
MERIT Beauty Flush Balm ($30)
Our readers are no stranger to MERIT’s Flush Balm; it’s made this monthly retrospective several times, and celebrities love it too. The latest to publicly praise the blush balm is actress Brenda Song, who calls it “the blush you can’t overdo.”
Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum ($99)
Incorporating a ceramide serum into your skin-care routine is a “no-brainer” says our editor, and the one she’s been “loving lately” is Elizabeth Arden’s Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum. “If you’re someone who wants to strengthen your skin barrier while also targeting signs of aging, this is a great product to try.” To read her full review, click here.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Soothing Serum Skin Tint ($36)
We voted this tinted moisturizer from Danessa Myricks as the best overall tinted moisturizer for skin over 40. Why? The formula pairs ceramides and collagen peptides to plump and protect the skin barrier, and squalane boosts hydration all day, leaving skin with a glowy finish. Shoppers also love how the light coverage blurs dark spots, sunspots and redness without feeling too heavy on skin.
IMAGE Skincare VOL.U.LIFT™ GLP-1 4D Skin Rebound Complex ($134)
“Created by a plastic surgeon, this creamy, fragrance-free formula targets the side effects of GLP-1 treatments on facial skin, which can include deflation, deep wrinkles, dehydration and loss of density,” writes our editor of IMAGE Skincare’s new VOL.U.LIFT. “GLP-1-induced skin aging is a new phenomenon that is affecting patients in different ways,” says Dr. Marc Ronert, co-owner of IMAGE Skincare. However, to date, there are no targeted solutions that address the distinct range of skin concerns that accompany these treatments. This is why I developed VOL.U.LIFT.”
